Founding Pastor, Rev. Moisés and Vilma Sandoval
Moisés Alfonso Sandoval, who in 2023 completed 63 years of ministry, 20 years as a lay worker in El Salvador and 43 years as an ordained pastor of the General Council of the Assemblies of God in the United States.
Reverend Moises Alfonso Sandoval accepted the Lord as his savior at an early age. From an early age he obeyed the Lord in the waters of baptism and was filled with the Holy Spirit. God used him to take the biblical teaching to the villages and cantons of El Salvador. He is married to Ana Vilma Torres and God has blessed him with two sons and a daughter.
Moisés Alfonso was the founder of 8 churches in the different cantons and hamlets of Ciudad Arce, including the New Eden Church. Pastor Moises traveled to Los Angeles, California in search of a better life for his family. There were members of the Hispanic congregation of Angelus Temple in the city of Echo Park, CA. In 1979 he was called by the Lord to the pastorate and was appointed pastor of the Evangelical Latin Church, Assemblies of God. God has used him greatly to bless many generations of Hispanic Christians in Southern California.
Pastor, Rev. Nelson and Ofelia Sandoval
Nelson Sandoval earned his Master of Divinity degree from Fuller Seminary in Pasadena, CA. and studied Theology at LABI Bible Institute. He also studied Music Composition at Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, CA. He is the son of the founding pastor of the Evangelical Latin Church.
Prior to serving as pastor, he was director of worship for 30 years. His ministry led the church to a new excellence in worship. He also formed a Music Academy which is directed by his wife Ofelia Sandoval.
Nelson is married to Ofelia Sandoval and has three children. Nelson Sandoval began pastoring in 2007 and was officially placed as pastor of the Evangelical Latin Church by the laying on of hands under the leadership of the Assemblies of God by Rev. Jesse Miranda and Rev. Sergio Navarrete.
Our Pastor Nelson Sandoval gives us a new vision reaching new achievements, and is God's provision to reach a new multicultural generation of Spanish and English speaking people. We thank God that in His sovereign purposes He raises up new leaders to continue His work in the midst of these times.
